ge of Sail II (AOSII) is a sequel to the popular
naval strategy game Age of Sail from
Talonsoft. The action take place in tall ships
golden years 1775-1812. Player will have possibility to play
English-French and English-American campaigns and more than
100 standalone scenarios of most famous battles: Copenhagen,
the Battle of the Nile, Trafalgar, etc. Working on the game,
developers examined huge amount of historical materials -
the complete information about more than 2,000 historical
ships from 11 countries, detailed reconstruction of famous
battles, old drawing used to create 3D models of ships and
fortifications.
he goal was not simple - we try to create a game that is interesting
to play for wargame funs, that likes complicated games with
a lot of historical details, and for realtime strategy funs
that prefer good graphics, simple controls and action. From
one side AOSII have a lot of historical data and only
familiar with naval history can use all advantages of each
ship. But from other side player can let AI controls his ship's
gun fire with all that historical data and play realtime strategy
with a lot of units and beautiful special effects. Time scale
feature is very important for gameplay - in age of sail everything
takes a lot of time, for example gun reload takes 5 minutes!
This feature allows player to speed up time during battle
and skip long delays between actions or stop time and have
enough time to think over situation and give orders to your
fleet.
